If your Samsung washer door is locked, it’s likely to prevent water from leaking, especially in front-load models. Here are steps to troubleshoot and unlock your washer door:

Why the Door Locks

  • Water Prevention: The door locks to prevent water from spilling out during operation.
  • Child Lock: On some models, the Child Lock feature will also keep the door locked to ensure safety.

 

Steps to Unlock the Door

1 Check the Child Lock:
Make sure the Child Lock feature is not engaged. This feature prevents children from opening the door and potentially getting hurt

2 Verify Cycle Completion:

 

  • Ensure the wash cycle has finished. Check that the timer has expired and all water has drained.
  • To cancel the cycle, press Start/Pause (hold to start).
  •  

    3 Wait for the Door Lock to Release:
    • It may take a few moments for the door lock to disengage after the cycle is complete.
    • Confirm that the door lock light is off. This light indicates that the washer has drained properly.
    • If the washer was paused while filling with water, you must wait one minute before the door can be opened.

     

    Emergency Drain Option
