Minimize tile size

A 1x2 size tile can be changed to 1x1

Move the cursor over the tile which you want to change the size.
Right-click and select the Smaller option
Right-click and select the Smaller option
Enlarge tile size

Move the cursor over the tile which you want to change the size. Right-click and select the Bigger option from the bottom

This can be applied to the tiles for Apps running on the Start screen only
