The Charm Bar appears when dragging from the bezel to the right side of the touch screen

Desktop → Start screen

Press the Windows button to switch to the Start screen

Move (cursor or finger) to the bottom left side of the screen to view the Start screen

Select the Start button on the Charm Bar
