If you are experiencing issues when connecting a PC or USB device to your Smart Monitor M80B, please keep reading.
Check the device connected to the USB-C ports on the back of the monitor.
① Used when connecting a USB Type-C source device with a USB-C cable. For USB-C input, a USB-C 3.1 Gen2 10G cable must be used for proper screen output.
Note:
- Laptops and mobile devices can be charged.
② Used when connecting USB devices (keyboard, mouse, etc.)
Note:
- Previous versions of the cable do not support the video input function (DisplayPort ALT).
- Up to 65W of charging power is supported. Charging speeds may vary, depending on the connected device.
A PC or laptop must be connected to the left port (when looked at from the back of the monitor) of the two USB-C ports. A USB-C 3.1 Gen2 10G cable must be used for proper screen output.
Depending on the connection status and specifications of your USB cable, the screen output may not be optimal. Also, please make sure that your monitor’s USB-C Preference function menu setting is set to High Resolution.
You can choose to prioritize High Resolution or High-Speed Data transfer. If you change your settings during a data transfer, your transfer may be canceled, or your data may be corrupted. From Menu, you can change the USB-C Preference setting.
Step 1. Press the Home button on the Smart Remote and navigate to Menu.
Step 2. Select Settings > All Settings.
Step 3. Select Connect > External Device Manager.
Step 4. Select USB-C Preference setting > High Resolution or High-Speed Data.
- High Resolution: If High Resolution is selected, 3840x2160@60Hz is the optimal resolution. Up to USB 2.0 port is supported.
- High-Speed Data: If High-Speed Data is selected, up to USB 3.0 port is supported. In this instance, 3840x2160@60Hz cannot be used with USB-C input. If 3840x2160@60Hz input is desired, please select and use “High Resolution”.
USB devices (keyboard, mouse, etc.) must be connected to the right port (when looked at from the back of the monitor) of the two USB-C ports.
You can choose to use USB devices (keyboard, mouse, etc.) from your monitor or from an external device connected to the USB-C port. If you set the USB Source setup to Auto, the setting automatically and conveniently changes, depending on your monitor display output. You can change the USB Source setup from Menu.
Step 1. Press the Home button on the Smart Remote and navigate to Menu.
Step 2. Select Settings > All Settings.
Step 3. Select Connect > External Device Manager.
Step 4. Select USB Source Setup > Auto/USB-C/Monitor.
- Auto: Use a USB device from the monitor or a PC connected to USB-C, depending on the display status of the monitor.
- USB-C: Use a USB device from a PC connected to USB-C.
- Monitor: Use a USB device from certain apps on the monitor.
Note:
- PC must be connected to the left port of the two USB-C ports using a USB-C cable.
- If your PC is connected to your monitor by HDMI, connect USB-C to A cable additionally. Then, you can use the USB device (keyboard, mouse, etc.) connected to your monitor from your PC.
To go to All settings, press the Home button for 2 seconds > Up button 1 time from the Virtual number pad window > All Settings.
