How to use Photo assist to edit photos on Samsung Galaxy devices
Photo assist offers various AI features to help you edit photos in the Gallery app. Learn more about the photo editing features that Photo assist provides.
Notes:
- Make sure you are signed into your Samsung Account to use this feature.
- Images generated by AI will display an AI watermark in the bottom left corner.
- Your drawings are sent to a server when generating them as images. The transmitted data is processed for the purpose of providing the feature and is not stored by Samsung.
- This guide is based on One UI 6.1.1, and feature support may vary depending on your model and software version.
- The Sketch to image and Portrait studio features are only available on the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Fold6.
The feature can be turned on directly on an image in the Gallery app when you use the feature for the first time, or you can also turn on/off the feature in Settings.
Sketch to image
Photo assist’s 'Sketch to image' feature transforms a simple sketch drawn on top of an image into a photorealistic object that matches the mood of the photo. To use ‘Sketch to image’, you need to enable the Drawing assist feature (Settings > Galaxy AI).
Generative edit
You can also delete, move, or resize the created object by long-pressing on it using the ‘Generative edit’ feature. The AI will automatically adjust the object and background to match the original photo.
Portrait studio
Portrait studio uses AI to convert portrait images to cartoon characters.
Note: Due to the nature of AI, results may vary.
