How to Use the Do Not Disturb Mode on Your Galaxy Phone
Galaxy phones allow you to mute all calls, alerts, and notifications on your phone at once when you don't want to be disturbed. Do not disturb mode lets you customize your notifications, alerts, or calls and when they automatically turn on or off. Use the Do not disturb mode by following the guide below so that your phone does not disturb you during important moments.
Before you try the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:
Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.
Step 2. Tap on Download and install.
Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Turn on Do not disturb mode
The Do not disturb mode sets your phone to mute all sounds except for the exceptions you preset. You can also set it to turn on or off automatically at scheduled times, so you don't miss an important call. When you need a quiet break, follow the steps below to activate the Do not disturb feature.
Step 1. Launch the Settings app, and then select Notifications.
Step 2. Select Do not disturb.
Step 3. Tap the switch to activate Do not disturb.
Set a Do not disturb schedule
You can prevent your phone alerts from disturbing you when you have regular classes or when you sleep every day. Follow the steps below to set up a schedule to automatically activate Do not disturb.
Step 1. Tap Add schedule in the Do not disturb menu.
Step 2. Enter a schedule name and your desired preferences, and then tap Save.
Step 3. Tap the switch next to a schedule to turn it on or off.
If you repeat this process, you can create a scheduled Do not disturb period as many times as desired and, you will not be disturbed during the times you set.
Allow Do not disturb exceptions
When the Do not disturb mode is turned on, it is possible to allow exceptions and customize which notifications are received. Follow the steps below to set up an exception to Do not disturb.
Step 1. Select from the displayed options: Exceptions, such as Calls, Alarms and sounds or Apps.
Step 2. You can select and allow custom notifications while Do not disturb is on. For example, if you select Favorite contact only in Calls, a call from a number stored as a favorite contact will be able to go through while Do not disturb is on.
