Fixing Samsung TV Picture Issues
When the picture is not clear on specific channels, it does not necessarily mean that your TV is faulty. Poor picture quality might be due to other factors such as connection quality.
Signal Quality Issues
While many channels are now offered digitally and at a higher quality than analog, some are still at 480i signals. If the signal coming in is not 1080p, the TV will scale to fit on the screen. This scaling can distort the image and affect the quality.
Connection Method Quality
The quality of the connection method used will heavily affects the image quality. TV and set-top box connection have to be changed by using components / HDMI terminal to watch high resolution.
If the connection method is correct, check the cable to ensure it is not faulty/old. Change to a brand new cable if it is spoilt. Ensure that all the contact points are secured properly.
Resolution for your TV
Press the info button available on TV remote to check the input resolution. If the resolution is set to low, it has to be changed to the optimum resolution of your TV screen.
Picture Test
If your TV comes with Picture Test function (Menu – Support – Self Diagnosis), perform this test to figure out the problem and its cause.
