What Is The Difference Between An HDTV Tuner And Receiver?
HDTV (High Definition TV) tuner and HDTV receiver are two names with the same purpose. HDTV tuners and/or receivers let you tune in and receive HDTV and DVT (Digital TV) broadcasts.
There are four types of HDTV tuner/receivers:
• HDTV tuner/receivers - Tune and decode over the air HDTV and DVT signals with an antenna
• Digital Satellite tuner/receivers - Tune and decode HDTV and DVT satellite signals with a satellite dish
• All-in-One tuner/receivers - Tune and decode both over-the-air and satellite DTV and HDTV signals. Requires both a satellite dish and an antenna
• Cable HDTV tuner/receivers - Tune and decode digital cable signals.
